Interplanetary #5 24"x24" $950 available
This piece was inspired from taking ordinary plants, organisms and fruits and tweaking them into imaginary plants that looks like they could actually exist. This piece has a whimsical quality mixed with a little of the unexpected.
Before the Heatwave 24x24 oil on silver leaf Available $1200
There is something etherial about a silver background that changes with the lighting. The delicacy of the foliage and flowers against the reflective almost industrial background give a sense of vast expanses. By painting the flowers with more “air” around them helps me appreciate the delicacy and unique lines of each plant. These pieces have a contemporary feel yet would look amazing in a traditional setting.
Saint Farfalla #5 acrylicon silverleaf 24x24 $990 available
Part of an ongoing series of gold and silver leaf pieces that sanctify the pollinators of the
earth. Each butterfly is painted as close to life as possible using acrylic paints and colored
pencils. The simple textured backgrounds harken back to the religious icon relics that used
gold and scraffitto to capture the golden halos and auras of saints. It is now time to revere the
creatures that make living on earth such a gift. Without the pollinators there will be no more
fruits, plants and flowers and all the others living beings that depend on the infinite variety of
earthly plant life.
When Water Meets Sky acrylic on canvas 36x48 $2400 available
This piece can be hung any way the view decides.
This was inspired by my many years of working in watercolors. It is a very physical piece with a lot of movement and many moments of uncertainty. Keeping it fresh was a challenge, it was an exercise in knowing when to stop. Like a cloud that is just on the verge of dropping all its heavy moister as rain but holds on and turns beautiful shades of purple gray and blue. This piece has reached the perfect balance.
